FOR PURCHASE ~ The Newcomes William Makepeace Thackeray. London: T. Nelson & Sons. n/d. (ca. 1900) Leather-bound edition, likely from a larger set of Thackeray's works; however, after quite a bit of searching, I cannot find any Nelson publications with matching spines, and there is no indication on the title that this is of a particular series. Bound in burgundy leather. Gilt tooling on spine. Nearly 1000 pages fit into this 12mo--appears to be scritta or some other kind of lightweight paper. 4 illustrated plates (inc. frontis). All edges gilt. Pages 841 - 852 seem to have been improperly cut at bottom corners, resulting in excess-- likely just a printer's error. Generally nice condition, but with some wear. Previous owner appears to have mended some hinging at front board. Item Spex Measurements: 12mo Weight : 9 oz. Pages : 928 Condition Details : TThis item is in Good-Fair condition.
