Scarce comparative religious text printing a 1926 lecture by Indian and Buddhist scholar, Gaṅgānāth Jhā. This was part of the Kamala Lecture series at Calcutta University founded by Bengali academic, Asutosh Mookerjee and named after his daughter. The first lecturer in this series, in 1924, was theosophist, Annie Besant. This text covers discipline in Indian systems from Buddhism and Jainism to Upanishads, in comparison with that in other Eastern systems such as Zoroastrianism, Taoism, and others, as well as Western philosophies such as in Greece and Rome.
