A hardcover book attractively bound in full red leather with ornate gilt decorations and five raised bands on the spine. Features a gilt top edges, gilt dentelles, marbled endpapers, and decorative embelms on the front and back boards. The edges of the free endpapers are tanned, but otherwise, the pages are clean, bright, and smooth. The binding is tight and the covers pristine. A beautiful, collectible copy in fine condition! Very well packaged. Better than some other sellers that just ship books in a Manila padded envelope. This seller had wrapped it in bubble wrap then placed in a box full of packed paper. Because of this extra careful attention the 139 year old book made it safe to its new forever home. The book arrived on time. As described. Great value for a book this old. The stain on front cover is exactly as described. I would prefer it to not have the stain but it definitely adds character.
