Description
This is the 1745 first edition of Louis-Charles Fougeret de Monbron's "La Henriade travestie en vers burlesques," a popular parody of Voltaire's "La Henriade" that saw many subsequent 18th century editions. It's a 155 page (plus title page and 3 page foreword), 3.75"x6.5" leather-bound hardcover published anonymously, with no publisher credited and a misleading place of publication (Berlin). All text is in French. In good condition with moderate wear to the boards, splits forming at the lower joints, small cracks and some loss to the spine decorations. The hinges are intact. There's a small pencil note to the first flyleaf, another to the title page, a small mark in ink to the last flyleaf, smudges, stains or soiling to several pages.

Overall item is in excellent condition and well described. Fast shipping! Item was packaged extremely well and the best I have ever seen anyone packaged an item to ensure it gets to the buyer in the condition as described. Will definitely be buying from this seller again as over all liked the fast shipping, describing the item extremely well, and then taking care of the item and packaging the item well to get there with no damages.
