See the detailed physical description below** Up for grabs is this PAIR of now scarcely found copies of the U.S Collector's editions of Harry Potter's first two volumes: The Sorcerer's Stone and the Chamber of Secrets. Long out of print, they one of the most sought after by collectors of deluxe pressings. To put the scarcity of this edition into perspective, each edition of 2000 is only 100 per state! Original copies, as these, are bound in rich supple leather, have gilt (gold) edges with gilt lettering and embellishments to the front, spine and back, and a glassine (clear plastic) dust jacket provided to somewhat protect the leather. The Sorcerer's Stone has a beautiful graphic by Mary Longpre of Harry, as shown left. The Chamber of Secrets has a frameable jacket art print included in the back of the book, shown right, which IS INCLUDED! To say that these books are anything but remarkable is an understatement and they a Harry Potter collectors must have! Once available in plenty, they are now getting quite scarce and pristine copies are getting harder and harder to find at ANY price! Both of the books offered in this listing are NEARLY pristine, first printings with supporting numberline, and are brand new and unread, so grab one while it is available as the first bid takes it! I have been collecting books and music for over 35 years and have amassed an enormous collection with many duplicates. I do not subscribe to "grading" as it is so subjective and most of the "graders" truly have no clue! Therefore I'll simply describe things in normal English! *SET ONE (Offered Here) - This is a pair of gently handled and possibly read (although I doubt it) leatherbound books in EXCELLENT condition. As described, they are bound in leather with gilt edging and spinal reinforcements insuring the books will last many, MANY reads and gilt edging. They are presenting exceptionally well showing only the very slightest hint of shelfwear from handling as Chamber of Secrets shows some minor wear near the bottom of the covers near the spine. Both have the original glassine covers which are still quite supple. Each book measures approximately 3.25"w X 9.25"h. IF YOU ARE A NEUROTIC PERFECTIONIST , then you won't be happy with this set. However if you are a normal person, the flaws are so minor you may not even notice them! Shown below are stock pictures of the books with and without the glassine dust jackets, and the spine. Despite USPS claims of 3-9 day delivery times, MEDIA MAIL CAN actually TAKE UP TO 3 WEEKS to arrive, and their tracking info is frequently not updated until it actually arrives, making that feature pretty useless! PLEASE remember this when you leave feedback scores as the choice is yours and not my fault if it takes a long time to get there! If you want it in a week or less, you are going to have to bite the bullet and pay for Priority Mail which will get it there in 2-3 working days, 99% of the time, but it is more expensive. Basically, the choice is yours, but if you choose media mail, please don't write to me in 5 days asking where your package is, because the post office will have it and most of the time, they don't have a clue!
