It contains three complete stories Edward Bulwer Lytton. The stories are: Harold - The Last of the Saxon Kings, Falkland, Calderon, The Courtier. Published by Dana Estes & Company. This special book comes from a set called Illustrated Sterling Edition. There is no publishing date but I estimate around 1890. The book was nicely bound by Brentano's, N.Y. It features a beautiful engraved frontispiece protected by a captioned tissue guard. The book is quarter-bound in leather with leather tips. Spine is uniformly faded. Top edge of pages has gilt edge. The covers are tightly bound with no cracking or splitting of hinges. All pages are clean and tightly bound. Has decorative endpages. There is no writing in book; there are no previous owner signatures, and no previous owner bookplates. Book shows some corner and edge wear. The bottom edge of some of the pages are uncut.
