Franklin Library leather edition of Margaret Wilson's "The Able McLaughlins," Illustrated by Dennis Luczak, a Limited edition, one of PULITZER PRIZE series, published in 1977. Bound in pea green leather, the book has camel tan French moire silk end leaves, satin book marker, hubbed spine, acid-free paper, Symth-sewn binding, gold gilding on three edges---in FINE condition. Margaret Wilson was born in 1882 in Iowa, into a family she described as "poor but strong and loving farmers." She studied at the University of Chicago, spent time in India as a missionary but returned and began teaching school. After publishing "The Able McLaughlins," she married C.D. Turner and moved to England where she lived the rest of her life. The Literary Review stated: "Miss Wilson's volume is fresh, spare, and sure. . . .It tries to achieve intensity . . .it is a "tale adroitly told at once simple and poignant." 223 pages. Quite the surprised, at first I thought I ordered something from a pet shop because of the box turns out to be my order xD.
