Description

Franklin Library leather edition of Allen Drury's "Anna Hastings: The Story of a Washington Newspaper Woman," Illustrated by Uldis Klavins one of the FIRST EDITION SOCIETY series, with a 'facsimile' signature, published in 1977. Bound in red leather, the book has burgundy moire silk end leaves, acid-free paper, Symth-sewn binding, a satin book marker, hubbed spine, gold gilding on three edges---in near FINE condition. Allen Stuart Drury, who was born in 1918, was a Texas journalist and novelist and a graduate of STANFORD University. Anna is a tough, hard-working, hard-driving, extremely competent WORKING reporter, and as such she takes fierce pride in herself. Not so bad an achievement for a little Polish girl from Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. 304 pages. I offer Combined shipping.
