Description
Assumed first printing (thus) no additional printings noted. The series was launched in 1906. Tight, clean leather book with real gold decorations and titling. Tips chipped and rubbed, top edge gilt. Marker ribbon tighly held in the text block. Edges worn, front board splitting at the corner. T hese two novels contain characters who are either representative types, or thinly veiled caricatures of Peacock's contemporaries, who gather in country houses to eat, drink and discuss. These tales poke fun at contemporary attitudes and ideas, such as the Romantic literary movement. .

Shipped fast, well packaged. Overall great but one of the books has what looks like marks that weren't in the pics. Not the same book from the pics and a little disappointing.
