"The Fortunes and Misfortunes of the Famous Moll Flanders" by Daniel Defoe is a novel written in the early 18th century. The story chronicles the life of Moll Flanders, who is introduced as a complex character born in the Newgate Prison, experiencing a life filled with dramatic turns, including themes of crime, love, and redemption, as she navigates through her tumultuous existence marked by various relationships and struggles. At the start of the novel, Moll provides a glimpse into her troubled beginnings, having been born to a mother convicted of theft. She recounts her early experiences, detailing how she was left in the care of a nurse, who raised her with care, despite their poverty. Moll's childhood is filled with her grappling with her status and aspirations, longing to be a "gentlewoman" instead of a servant, reflecting her desire to rise above her circumstances. As she begins to develop into a young woman, her innate beauty and charm draw the attention of powerful men, setting the stage for her eventual entanglements in both romance and moral dilemmas. The opening sets the tone for a rich exploration of her character as she prepares to confront a life filled with both fortunes and misfortunes. Cannot overstate my positive experience with Ruth. She was fast & responsive to my questions, even testing the timer before I purchased. Before shipping, she tested the timer again & noticed an anomaly; her & her husband spent the day troubleshooting & making sure it worked exactly right/as described in the listing. She kept me updated & the shipping was so fast & packaging was amazing. For the value, you can't beat this customer service. I'd buy from Ruth again and again and you should too.

Shipping was quick and economical. The item itself was well described in the photos and was available at a fair price. Packaging, however, probably needed to be better padded - USPS employs gorillas who go out of their way to fling boxes around. The upper corner was severely crushed (see pix). Happily, I'm an experienced metal worker and have a workshop I was able to undo most of the damage (see the last two pix), so no complaints - just warning about USPS incompetence.

7.21.25 A great seller! A real asset to eBay. There was a defect in the item, and she made it right and then some. Product was packed well for shipping and delivered quickly. Great communication skills and great attitude. Thank you so much and I'm sure this flatware chest will have another great home for another 50 years plus. Blessings, jw in Oregon
