Description
The October Man by Ben Aaronovitch With this long new novella, bestselling author Ben Aaronovitch has crafted yet another wickedly funny and surprisingly affecting chapter in his beloved Rivers of London series. If you thought magic was confined to one country -- think again. Trier: famous for wine, Romans and being Germany’s oldest city. When a man is found dead with his body impossibly covered in a fungal rot, the local authorities know they are out of their depth. But fortunately this is Germany, where there are procedures for everything. Enter Tobias Winter, an investigator for the Abteilung KDA, the branch of the German Federal Criminal Police which handles the supernatural. His aim is to get in, deal with the problem, and get out with the minimum of fuss, personal danger and paperwork. Together with frighteningly enthusiastic local cop, Vanessa Sommer, he quickly links the first victim to a group of ordinary middle aged men whose novel approach to their mid-life crisis may have reawakened a bloody conflict from a previous century. As the rot spreads, literally, and the suspect list extends to people born before Frederick the Great, Tobias and Vanessa will need to find allies in some unexpected places. And to solve the case they’ll have to unearth the secret magical history of a city that goes back two thousand years. Presuming that history doesn’t kill them first. Subterranean Press; hardcover. First edition/first printing (copy #428 of a limited edition of 2500 signed and numbered copies -- not to be confused with the lettered, leatherbound limited edition); 2019. Condition of book is new and dust jacket is like new (it's new and unread, but the front and back covers have tiny matching bumps at top edge; other discreet wear). Cover art by Stephen Walters . No reserve price. Buyers in California must pay state sales tax. Buyer pays shipping and handling.

Thank you so much! I was so excited to finally get my hands on this one! I ve been searching for quite a while for it! Exactly as described! Packaged well, although I do wish there had been a barrier to protect the book if the package got wet. It was wrapped in paper very well and professionally, I would have added a bubble wrap or plastic wrap later though just to be safe. Especially with the more expensive books. Thank you again!

Book looks & feels brand new. The jacket cover edges are crisp with no rips. Book was wrapped in tissue paper then inserted into a cardboard box for shipping. Overall, a great eBay buying experience from a first-rate seller. Look forward to dealing with them again.

Thank you -Very reliable seller--Seller shipped book in a box. A corner still got smashed, but clearly this wasn't their fault as they put it in a box. I would buy from them again definitely. Very fast ship time!
