Description
Walter Landor was a writer and poet of the late 1700s, early 1800s whose work was varied. His poetry was highly praised but was not as popular as might be expected while his writings covered everything from politics to criticisms of theater and art. He had an exciting and excitable personality which translated well into his writing. This pretty little book of selections includes a preface by Sidney Colvin, along with poems covering the topics of death and mortality, love, marriage, and family. Nicely bound by Bayntun Binders of Bath, England. A part of the Golden Treasury Series by Macmillan. Good Condition: 12mo, leather with front board off, pretty turn under with florets in each corner and binder mark on bottom of front, ridged spine with title in second band and date at bottom in gilt. Marble Endpapers. Portrait on title page of Landor. Pencil marks on sparepage at front. “Selections from the Writings of Walter Savage Landor”. Sidney Colvin, editor. London: Macmillan and Co. Limited. 1920. FORN-Shelf-563-RAREB1920ABCA

This book far exceeded my expectations! It’s in the most pristine condition of any of the old books that I own. Robins Rare Books is amazing. Always a great value, very well packaged, quick shipping and always as described. I am a repeat customer and will always check listing from this seller first when I’m in the market for an antiquarian book.

This arrived safely and it was well packaged. This is exactly as described and it included a thank you on a postcard. This was well thought out and the seller knows how to handle and ship rare books. This was worth more than it was sold for, in my opinion, and I greatly appreciate doing business with this person.
