A few charts, mostly of positions of the Jovian or Saturnian Moons. Condition: Hardbound in quarter leather over marbled boards. There is a library stamp on the title page, and a library number on the spine, but otherwise no library marks. Only slight wear at extremities of cover. Interior is clean, tightly bound, and unmarked throughout with crisp page edges and all the 13 plates (several foldout) are in good condition. Overall VG++. Information: An informative and unusual old compilation of popular astronomy articles from Germany, in German, with some seldom-seen illustrations. Articles about: observations of Mars including a drawing as seen by Juvisy observatory(See photos); Drawings of Saturn; Observations of Nova Persei, including a finding chart and spectra (this nova turned out to be one of the first observations of an expanding "light echo"), the rotation of Venus, the death of Lick Observatory's James Keeler, cosmology, astrophotography from Yerkes Observatory, meteor and fireball observations, the rotation of Saturn's rings, comets, etc. etc. A nice addition to any library on astronomy, stars, galaxies, astrophotography, amateur astronomy, history of astronomy, planets, astronomical instruments, telescopes, etc. etc. I have other volumes of this magazine available—please inquire if interested.
