'Flowering Plants' is the magnum opus of botanical and ornithological illustrator and author, Anne Pratt, a project which explores more than 1,500 species, published over the course of a decade. Pratt utilised an affordable method of chromolithography in order to create the wonderful coloured illustrations throughout. The resulting colour plates, of which there are plenty, offer a lovely visual aid throughout the volumes. With examinations of an array of species found in Great Britain, designed to be accessible and used as a standard reference work. Externally, very smart. With instances of rubbing to the extremities, heaviest to the spine tails, particularly to Vol I. The odd mark to the boards.
