Very pretty fine binding by Hatchard's (stamp signed) of this 1899 Macmillan edition of Palgrave's Golden Treasury, second series. In three-quarter brown morocco leather with tan cloth. Wonderful Arts & Crafts style gilt elements to spine, as well as raised bands. Marbled endpapers, all edges gilt. Front board is detached from spine, but is still held on by front endpaper, hence fair condition rating. If you can live with that, this is a handsome binding at a cheap cost.

The seller shipped the item very quickly. The book was packaged in bubble wrap and then wrapped up in another layer of paper. The book was described as "very good+" on their listing. I would have described it as "good", but I am still happy with the purchase. I collect copies of Jane Eyre with illustrations, so this was a nice edition to add to my shelf. Thanks!
