An illustrated miscellany for family reading. Bound together in one, Volumes V and VI run across the year of 1870, from January to June and July to December. Illustrated throughout with monochrome engravings and drawings. Also includes ten monochrome plate and five colour lithographs by the Leighton Bros, incomplete as the colour frontispiece to Volume VI is missing. Collated. Prior owner's ink inscription to the first free endpaper dated 1935. CONDITION Rebound in half calf and cloth boards. Externally, smart. There is some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities resulting in some slight wear to the leather. Prior owner's ink inscription to the first free endpaper dated 1935.
