Structured as a banquet or feast, with multiple poets featuring through six different evenings. Beautifully illustrated with in-text vignettes by the Members of the National Academy of Design, engraved by Bobbett and Hooper, a charming work. CONDITION In the original publisher's full straight up grain morocco binding, with five raised bands, gilt to spine and boards, gilt to edges. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear, light rubbing to spine and boards, light soiling to rear board, Previous ownership inscription in marked to recto front blank page, bleeding through to the title page. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean. With seventy-two lovely vignette engravings.
