Samuel Taylor Coleridge was an English poet, literary critic and philosopher. He founded the Romantic movement along with his friend William Wordsworth. He is best known for his poems 'The Rime of the Ancient Mariner' and 'Kubla Kahn' as well as his influential critical works. Edited by Derwent Coleridge, the son of the author. CONDITION In a full morocco binding, bound for Magdalene College, Oxford. Externally, a little rubbed, mostly to the spine and extremities. Spine is discoloured. A few small marks to the boards. Faint tide mark to the front endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with only the occasional spot. I bought this for the copy's associations with a family I'm interested in, thanks to the suggestions about provenance in the seller's description. The description and photos told me all I needed to know about the book - clearly the right family, though I have my own view on the individual who owned it - but that is part of the fund of an old book. It arrived promptly - a couple of days' delay caused by UPS - safely packaged and a good price, I think.
