A great find from a local New England estate! This scarce antique volume is over 176 years old! A rare volume to find in any condition! Elegant half-leather binding with marbled boards is in good shape for its age! Boards and spine show some wear as pictured, including rubbing and light soiling, general wear around the extremities including bumping to the corners and spine extremes, a little wear to the joints, and some soiling to the marbled page edges. Otherwise sound! This antique tome is sturdy and square and the gilt lettering to the spine displays nicely from the shelf. A well preserved antique volume! Internally this volume is in great condition overall . Both boards are firmly attached to the binding and all page groupings remain secure. Former owner ’ s signature in pencil visible on the front free endpaper, front fly page, and title page. Additional markings in both pencil and pen visible on the front fly page. Includes a loose piece of ephemera in the form of a calling card for a Miss A. B. Waterman. The text block itself is in great shape as well . In general, pages s how light toning typical of age, as well as some light soiling and foxing scattered throughout, and general light page creasing in spots.
