This charming set includes Trimmer's 'Series of Prints' for both the Old and New Testaments, containing a series of engraved plated that depict critical scenes from the Bible, essential for their textual study by children. 'Old Testament' is illustrated with sixty-four plates. 'New Testament' is illustrated with sixty-four plates. Half-title present to each volume. Collated, complete. CONDITION In a full calf binding. Externally, boards and spines are rubbed, resulting in some loss of leather, a little heavier to the rear board of the 'New Testament'. Head and tail of the spine of 'Old Testament' are lifting. A small amount of loss to the head and tail of the spine of 'New Testament'. Light marks to the boards and spine. A touch of discolouration to the rear board of 'New Testament'. Front hinge of 'New Testament' is starting but firm. Ink inscription to the front paste down of 'New Testament'. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and generally clean with some scattered spots. Ink inscription to the head of the title for 'Old Testament'. Small chip to the tail of the half-title and title of 'New Testament', not affecting text. Faint tide mark to the head of plates XXXIX to LXIV.
