Published from the Originals; with Notes Explanatory and Historical, By John Hawkesworth, L. L. D. In Three Volumes. A New Edition., T. Davies, 1766, Vol. I-VI, uniformly 8.5 x 6”, 8vos. In fair condition. Moderate wear to extremities. Red along all edges of entire set. Spines are moderately abraded, with most spine labels lacking. Gilt lettering and ruling faded. Heads of spine chipped in most cases and lacking in others. Cording along spines still attached. Vol. I’s front board, end paper, and flyleaf detached from spine. Vol. II’s front board is detached from spine. Vol. III’s spine is fragile, but still attached by cording. Vols. IV-VI’s bindings are stable. Antiquarian bookplate included on front pastedown in vols.
